Welcome to the website of Stephen Pritchard, a journalist and broadcaster based in the UK.

A journalist for 20 years, he covers technology, telecoms, science and the environment — as well as areas of health, the public sector and management — in print, on the web, in audio and video.

Stephen writes for a number of newspapers, including the Financial Times, and the Independent on Sunday. He contributes to magazines and websites including IT PRO, Computer Weekly, Infosecurity Magazine, Information Age, and under the byline SJ Pritchard, The Guardian, Government Computing and Smarthealthcare.com.

He also works on broadcast projects for a number of outlets, and is a regular contributor to the FT’s Digital Business podcast.

Upcoming commissions

Commissions for Autumn 2010
The first piece due in for the Autumn is a feature for Infosecurity Magazine on the issues facing SMEs. Please call or email for more details. I am always keen to speak to security practitioners for these pieces.

I will be adding updates to this section over the next few days so do check back.

Update on FT Digital Business As some of you will know, FT Digital Business will have a new editor come the Autumn. As yet, it's not clear how the section will shape up or the type of stories that will run, so please keep that in mind when pitching ideas.

Column for IT PRO I will be writing my column for IT PRO throughout the Summer, so any ideas are welcome.

Podcast production and audio interviews We've now finished our new audio recording studio, so any editors who want to commission podcasts -- either complete productions or individual interviews or packages -- please do drop me an email. The studio can accommodate up to four guests, plus it has ISDN (G722) and IP links for remote interviews.
